Our Executive Secretary Diploma course is designed for those who are looking to work as a Secretary in a busy office.  Suitable for those with some prior experience working in an office as well as beginners looking to develop their skills to an intermediate level.

The Executive PA course is similar to the Executive Secretary Diploma but extends beyond Level 2 (Intermediate) to a higher level (Level 3, Advanced).

The Executive Secretary Diploma course provides 1 Diploma and 3 single Certificates at Level 2 (Intermediate).

Length of Course

The Course Programme is 12 months based on 5-8 hours study per week.  However the course is open for 15 months providing you with longer access to the course so you have more flexibility in your studying.  You also have the choice of completing the course as quickly as you wish including studying full time.

The whole course can be completed from home including the Assessments. There is no need to attend any exam centre or ourselves.


Upon successful completion you will be awarded the:

Executive Secretary Diploma made up of the following single Certificates:

  • IT for the Office Certificate (Level 2)
  • Administration Certificate (Level 2)
  • Business Documents Certificate (Level 2)

The course is accredited by NCFE under our IIQ Licence with Certificates of Achievement issued by NCFE.

Course Content

Professional Development

The topics covered in this section are all about helping you to cope with the demanding role of an Executive Secretary.  They develop your ability to cope with professional working relationships, prioritising workloads, professional customer care skills, developing questioning and answering skills, communication skills, managing stress, networking, using social media for business and being an effective member of a team.

IT for the Office Certificate – Level 2 (7 Modules)

This section of the course will develop your IT skills to an intermediate level covering Microsoft Office.  Programs include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Publisher.  You will also develop your Internet research skills.

Administration Certificate – Level 2 (8 Modules)

These modules will develop your knowhow in how to manage a range of administrative tasks required in a demanding Office Administrator role.
These include Supporting Business Events, Supporting Business Trips, Supporting Business Meetings, Supporting HR Recruitment, Diary Management, Petty Cash, composing a range of Business Documents and the Role of the Administrator.

Business Documents Certificate – Level 2 (6 Modules)

This section of the course will develop your ability to prepare a range of business documents to a professional standard using Word.  Modules include business letters, reports, tables, audio transcription, mail merge and touch typing with speed development.
